Recorded in 2001, This album brings back very fond memories. Recorded and mixed in only five days. I'll repeat that..recorded and mixed in only five days.
And what's more ...recorded and mixed by the legendary Steve Albini.
Ok, that deserves to be repeated too...STEVE ALBINI.
At Electrical Audio, Chicago.

My old, dear friend Kate Ellis played cello and my old, dear friend Thomas Haugh played drums.
We set up and played. The vocals, guitar, cello and drums were all recorded live to 2 inch tape. Yes, good old analogue recording.

This album is not very easy to find.
When i listen back to these recordings, I hear my boyish self. And marvel how much my voice has changed.
The songs seem like they were written in a trance, in a the best way.
Full of mystery and fevered heart.
I hope you like it.

This is absolute genius. Each song has its own unique mood, but what they all have in common is that they take their time, allowing the lush, patient, dazzlingly imaginative arrangements to gradually blossom. There are a dizzying variety of instrumental textures, pleasure and wonderment around every turn. I'm getting hints of Will Oldham circa "Arise Therefore," though that album is much more spare.
